Roll the Sun

The sun has fallen, and the mountain is freezing over. Bring it back to the summit and return a little warmth to the world.

Push your way through calm foothills, a windy ridge, a frozen pass and hail-covered ruins. Keep the sun on the narrow road, take shelter when the weather turns, and use its momentum to break through the final ice gate.

A slip is not the end. Five checkpoints let you pick up the climb and try again. Reach the summit to bring back the morning, then see if you can beat your best time.

Desktop keyboard and mouse required. Sound on and fullscreen recommended. You can adjust music and effects separately in the menu.

How to play

Move close to the sun and hold E. Keep E held while using WASD to push and steer. Hold Space as well to brake.

  • W / A / S / D: Move, or push and steer while holding the sun.
  • Mouse: Look around.
  • Hold E: Take hold of the sun when nearby. Release E to let it roll freely.
  • Hold E + Space: Brace and brake. Use this to slow down or resist wind.
  • Hold E + tap Shift: Give the sun a strong shove. Release Space first, and wait for the shove indicator to recharge before using it again.
  • Hold R: Retry from your checkpoint. Keep holding until the retry bar fills.
  • Esc: Pause and release the mouse cursor. Choose Continue to resume.

Watch the road. Listen to the weather.

  • Wind: A rising whistle warns you before a gust. Hold E + Space to brace, or head into shelter.
  • Freezing rain: Irregular drops build into rain, and bright blue ice patches form on the road. Use the dry lane to avoid them. Entering ice sends the sun skidding forward—even while you are holding and pushing it. Brake before the patch to soften the burst. Ice lingers after the rain ends.
  • Hail: Distant impacts warn you of a shower. Small ice impacts and a pale strip mark the threatened side of the road before the burst lands. Move into the clear lane or wait for it to pass. Shelters protect you.

At the ice gate, line up the sun with the wall and let it build speed down the slope. Give it a shove if needed, then let go and follow it through.
